I missed a lot while I was unconscious, thanks to that stupid doctor.

They had picked me up as well and retreated to the edge of the forest. They met Miara and Hy, who said that she had gotten us permission to be where we were already. But just past the warning sign, we were ambushed by the Count and his men. The Count was also apparently not actually a count, only entitled to "sir". He was also probably mad, or close to it, judging by his completely erratic behaviour.

At any rate, they defended themselves. The battle was interrupted by the dorfrichter, but not in time to save Sir Theodosius, who died later. I never really got a clear story, but I think Carmella did her mental heating trick on his helmet. I said nothing about my guess, though. I don't want her fingered for something like that. José seems to be the assumed culprit, as he can apparently throw fireballs. However, he is a documented mage. As long as it's called self-defense instead of assault, he'll have nothing to worry about.

Everyone was under suspicion of murder at first, while they sorted things out: Hy, José, and Goldrim were placed in jail, and everyone else was told not to leave the town.

There was something about beastmen in the woods, but none were found. It did get everyone out of jail to be put on watch to protect the village, though.
