We did not stay at the Druidess' temple very long. Just long enough to get tasked by her again, decide where we want to go first, and get ready to leave again. Kreuzhofen was our first goal, to find Etienne Bastiens and hopefully succeed this time.

Mongo had left us at the dwarven shrine, and Sean had decided to stay with the Druidess. I'm sure he found travelling with us both dreadfully boring, merely following Son around in his personal darkness, and extremely harrowing with the constant battles we seem to get ourselves involved in. As we prepared to leave the temple, Stoiko, too, decided to go off on his own. The rest of the group stayed together. Our goals are common enough, and travelling in a large group is much safer then in small groups.

It was an easy trip to Kreuzhofen. Once there, we asked around after Bastiens and learned that he had been here, but had gone downriver a few days to Summerfort. So we immediately hired a boat and travelled there.

In Summerfort, it took us very little time to find news of Bastiens. And we had just missed him by less than a day: he was for some unknown reason travelling back to Kreuzhofen. One would think he actively enjoyed making us travel in circles, except he doesn't even know we exist. Before we left Summerfort, Goldrim had one of his visions, in which he saw a man die if we did not return to Kreuzhofen fast enough. Although he'd never met the man, he was certain the man in his vision was Bastiens.

It wasn't easy finding a boat captain and crew we could persuade into taking us back upriver again, because it was near the night of the double full moon. But we managed, and disembarked back in Kreuzhofen a few days later, right back where we started. With one difference, I hoped: surely Bastiens would really be here this time around.
