In town, we did little. Selina, the woman who had been poisoned, awoke and we talked with her. She seemed nothing more than a hired flunky. She said she was hired by Martin to do small things to frighten the villagers, including faking the vampire attack. She had no idea which of the men had actually poisoned her. She said she knew nothing about Gherig or Stapmi, nor did she know anything about Brit's death. She echoed Frederik Herkenrath's assertion that no one was supposed to get hurt.

Late in the evening, Miara and Hy, Goldrim, and Ash returned from a fruitless chase. They had followed the dwarf's trail to the next town, but lost it there. Even Ash could not keep a trail through a busy town. Goldrim said they let the true story be known, that there was no curse and all was well with Kreuzhofen, to help dispel the ridiculous rumours that were running rampant.

Tomorrow, we head again for the mansion, our original destination before we were sidetracked.
